Today, I will share the top 5 most beautiful treks in Himachal Pradesh that should be in every trekker's bucket list if they travel to Himachal Pradesh.

The list is topped by INDRAHAR PASS

 

INDRAHAR PASS:  

This pass is situated in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. From the top of Indrahar pass, one can enjoy the holy view of Manimahesh Kailash Peak along with Pir Panjal Range. It is worth a visit trek. It offers you the best Panorama shot of snow covered mountains.

Elevation: 4342m above the sea level

Best time to visit: May to October

 

BEAS KUND TREK:  

 

This pass is situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It is best for those, who are looking for a short break from their busy schedule. It is the most stunning trek in Kullu valley. People of all age group can cover this trek.

Elevation: 3650m above the sea level

Best time to visit: April to November

CHANDRATAL BARALACHA TREK: 

 

This pass is also situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. Also known as Moon lake, One can enjoy high altitude snow copped mountains in Baralacha Glacier. Baralacha Glacier is the source of the Chandra river.

HAMPTA PASS TREK:

Its again in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It is a long trek to cover and offers you beautiful views throughout the trek. This trek connects the Kullu valley from Pin valley in Spiti. This trek is one of the most visited treks by tourists.

HEAVEN ON EARTH: ROHTANG PASS

Have someone traveled to Heaven? If NO! Rohtang is your thing to do.

It is no wrong calling Rohtang pass as Heaven as nothing can be more beautiful than this pass. Once you visit the place you will agree with me.

Rohtang pass is situated at an elevation of 13051ft (approx 4000m) above the sea level in the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas and about 50km far from Manali. This pass is a natural geographical divide between Kullu and Manali. The pass lies on the watersheds between basins of Chenab river and Beas river. Rohtang pass is the emerging place of river Beas.

This pass has made itself to every traveler's bucket list. Though the trek isn’t that hard according to Himalayas standards, this place is known dangerous for its unpredictable snowstorms. The pass remains open from May to November and closes down in winters due to heavy snowfall and snow storms.

This place is also known as a snow point for tourists as you will people doing skiing, trekking, ice skating, and other snow-related activities.

There is saying ‘JOURNEY IS MORE BEAUTIFUL THEN THE DESTINATION” or “SAFAR KHOOBSURAT HEI MANZIL SE BHI”, This trek makes this saying evident. The Journey you will have to reach Rohtang is scenic beauty worth a million clicks. You will be seeing frozen waterfalls, Narrow roads, and deep gorges and many thrilling views.

This place deserves a visit. A cup of tea in one hand and Maggi in another enhances the experience.

MINI SWITZERLAND OF INDIA: KHAJJIAR

Khajjiar is a small hill station located in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. It is located 24km far from Dalhousie city.

Khajjiar is in lap the lap of a small plateau with a lake in the middle. The view is so much astonishing to the eyes. The Hill station is surrounded by Forests and meadows. 

Khajjiar is in the foothills of the Dhauladhar range, with an elevation of 2000m above the sea level, It can be seen from distant places.

Grasslands of Khajjiar seems so relaxing and the place is too calm that nobody wants to leave the place once visited.

Places of Interest in Khajjiar:

1.         Grasslands of Khajjiar

2.         Khajjiar Lake

3.         Jot Pass, People who visit Khajjiar also makes a visit to Jot pass for its beautiful views, chilled breeze.  Jot pass has an elevation of2800metres and the place is highest among the nearby spots.

4.         Diankund, It is a 4km trek from Khaijjiar.  This trek has excellent sites and camping options.

5.         Khajiinag Temple

What can be more beautiful than this? Finding a chilled water lake after tough climbing of about 13km and at an elevation of 4080m, The view fascinated my eyes as if I was in heaven. People from all over the country come here, climb this tough trek, to bid to their beloved God i.e. Lord Shiva.
This place is known as the resident place of Lord Shiva and their family. People from different areas come together and continuously chant the name Lord Shiva loudly. Loud chantings and the Manimahesh peak where Lord Shiva stays make this place the most lively place in the world.
Manimahesh is situated in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas. The Trek stays open for almost 2months in a year and the rest of the time snow covers the site.
The lake is the venue of a highly revered pilgrimage trek undertaken during the month of August/September corresponding to the month of Bhadon according to the Hindu calendar, on the eighth day of the New Moon period. Manimahesh Yatra has also been declared as the state pilgrimage site. People take bath in the lake, which is generally frozen in the morning. But with faith in their mind and Lord Shiva in their heart, freeze water fails to create fear in their mind.
Here the climate changes in every few minutes, from a very foggy site to crystal clear view of the mountain and it just happens in the time span of a few minutes.
People here believe that Lord Shiva expresses there presence in Mahimahesh by showing a Mani, which means a glowing light. Many people assert that they have seen the Mani while few are in the hope to see Mani.
There is numerous thing related to this place, which I can't describe in words. A lot many stories associated.
It is a must-visit for all the mountain lovers and for those who have faith in Holt Lord Shiva.
